Switch Office suite
LibreOffice offer a full alternative to Microsoft Office. The user interface might not be as fancy and you might need a few minutes to find some options when you are used to MS Office but after a short time you should be very comfortable and it should cover 99% of the need of a standard home user including LibreWriter (like Word), LibreCalc (spreadsheet like Excel), LibreImpress (presentation like Powerpoint) and even more. Very recently I had to use a function in LibreOffice Calc that is missing from Excel (advance options to import and export CSV files). Other open source alternatives could be OnlyOffice or Collabora Office but they are more a replacement of Google Docs and Microsoft 365 Online, in both case you need to either manage to host them yourself on a server (for free beside the server costs) or pay an online service that will host it for you.
